Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis
Shedding new light on plants Exhibition for botanical gardens by art movement Tropism The world of plants as we have never seen it before. That is the essence of this exhibition. Artists belonging to art movement Tropism have been photographing the world of plants, using unusual, often scientific, visualisation techniques. The use of infrared, x-ray, pinhole and electron microscopy give the images a surrealistic and magical touch. The results are unique artistic visualisations that offer a surprising and spectacularly different view of plants. Available for iPad in the App Store: "Tropisms 12 - Photosynthesis". Tropisms are projects created by art movement Tropism. Photosynthesis is the traveling exhibition that wants to shed a new light on plants. This app forms the complete catalogue for botanical gardens curators and for galleries that are interested in botany-related art. www.tropisme.nl

Shadow Harp

Shadow Harp
Interactive installation in The Old Church (de Oude Kerk) in Amsterdam as part of the Tropistic Manifestation in 1994. A powerful blue laser drew a web of light above the ground. When a ray was interrupted, a channel of a 16 track music composition was triggered. So one could walk trough the grid of beams, perhaps unaware of the consequences, or play it as a giant instrument.
